I wonder if the bomb cyclone currently pummelling the States mightn't awaken people to the potential devastation climate change will wreak if more attention isn't paid to reducing the emission of greenhouse gases.

Re. Canary Media's very good story cited by Bill in this article, I see that Public Citizen is taking an active role in resisting the liqueified natural gas terminal in North Port St. Joe, Fla., & I wonder if Earthjustice has been approached about also assisting the effort with their legal expertise? They are top drawer!

The recent passage of the Omnibus bill, the world’s largest slush fund, clarifies that biomass be recognized as a renewable energy source.

A spokesperson for Senator Collins, a recipient of biomass industry campaign funding, was quoted saying “Recognizing the carbon neutrality of biomass not only aligns with the science, but also encourages investments in working forests, harvesting operations, bioenergy, wood products, and paper manufacturing.”

How sad for our environment that the people continue to elect candidates that represent the needs of corporations rather that the needs of the people.

Bill McKibben, it is time for a ten year all out effort to reduce human fossil fuel CO2 emissions to 1/10th of their present per person levels. Our historical and political situation is like that of Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War. Abraham Lincoln had drafted the Emancipation Proclamation and his Cabinet advised him he needed a military victory. You should visit the White House and prepare Biden for the exceptional task before him.
