You fail to mention that US Senate candidate Cal Cunningham of NC who was leading his contest by 3 points over incumbent Republican Tillis, until he shot himself in the foot. Cunningham revealed that he had been texting inappropriate messages to a woman who was not his wife.I never heard if it was actually physical with her.Cunningham lost his lead and eventually lost by only 85k votes. The sad thing is that over 110k voters voted for Biden but not Cunningham. Way to go Cal,another case of a democrat snagging defeat from the jaws of victory. Had Cunningham won, Manchin would likely not be in the news nearly as often as he is.

The tragedy in Ukraine was a chance for the US to lead the world in a Marshall Plan for renewable development and distribution, and to permanently weaken Russia to forestall future genocides...but that would have required a strong strategy, public education, and unified messaging. This seems to be beyond the abilities of this administration.

The Dems should start playing like they want to win They need to investigate Machin and his wife and kids. Nobody gets that rich without doing something illegal. Investigate, find it, threaten to expose it or do expose it . Get a DA to file charges. Harass him. Then find some Republican Sens who could use something for their state. Give it to them in return for a vote And work like crazy to get more Dem Send elected

I agree with your proposed strategy. The administration needs to play hardball, but instead they are sucking up to Manchin and Sinema, and it is embarrassing. The President keeps doing the same thing in terms of "negotiation" and expecting a different result.

In addition to your proposed actions of investigating them: Completely freeze out both of them. No phone calls to or from anyone in the administration, no accepting their calls for any reason, even calls purporting to involve other issues, and privately urge democratic lawmakers to do the same. This is not rocket science. I would also urge President Biden to take a crash course in playing Poker!

Pledges and boycotts are useless without simple, straightforward avenues for people to move their credit dealings. Otherwise, it's just noise. (FWIW, I'm an old-timer who worked to make the UFW grape boycott effectual.) Alternatives, please.

It is Biden's fault. He did have a lever of power that he declined to use. Back in December, 2021, Biden signed the National Defense Authorization Act for 2022 without comment. This act tossed 280 billion dollars to the Pentagon and the Congressional pork barrel industry. Biden could have used his veto or pocket veto to negotiate a deal with Republicans who would get the defense money they crave in exchange for votes in favor of Build Back Better. He could have done that. He did not. It's his fault that BBB failed.

Joe Manchin, not the brightest bulb, does not understand how electric cars work.
